Quiltie Trade Update!!!

Good morning Lovely peoples in blog land... I wanted to give you an update on my first Quiltie Trade. I think it went GREAT!!! I had a wonderful time receiving them all and trying my best not to keep them all! The hardest part was choosing which ones I was going to keep for myself. And, the other sad part was we lost one quiltie package in the mail. :( I'm really frustrated for Rebecca, because I know she worked so hard. But, we hold onto hope that they will show up eventually.  Soooo, I thought I would give you a sneak peek of the Quiltie Trade by showing you the ones I choose for myself.
This lovely quiltie was made by Cheryl, from New York. (no blog)  I grew up singing church hymns in my family. Which is why I feel in love with this little cutie!!

Next, is Tova from Arizona. (no blog)   I saw this and gasped!!! I totally love the look of this rocky wonder. I had several Ladies who read blogs, but don't have one, email me and ask if they could join in on the fun. Of course, we were happy to have them join us.

And then lastly, but certainly not the least, Stephanie from Tennessee. When I saw the edging on this beauty.. I knew it was NOT leaving my house :O)

Then to my joyful surprise.... these two lovely Ladies made an extra for me to keep!! On the left you have Marilou, whom I like to call Blogmama :) and Lori on the right, (no blog) my best friend I had to leave back in Florida. Thank you Girls for the gifts... you really didn't have to .. but, I love them. :O)

I must say Ladies this trade was just AWESOME!!!! Thank you all very much for playing. I hope to see you all again on the next trade, and maybe some new traders too.!

I have mailed out all the quilties to their new homes. I will wait to do a post on all the quilties for at least a week. So, their new owners get a chance to see them first.

Have a super lovely DAY!!!!

Just a Little Peek into my Art Journals !!

Here is a small peek into my different art journals. I hope you enjoy :) I have started to make my books from scratch. Here is the cover of last years journal.

This page was done on torn pieces of masking tape. Putting it down first gives your project texture.

Often, I will pre-paint the pages with color. Then later come back and fill them in with my thoughts and drawings.

This page was done while I was taking Christy Tomlinson's class... She Had Three Hearts.

Well, That is for today.... So much to do ... sew little time :o)

Good Monday To You!!!

Good morning to blog land. It seems like I have been away for a week. ( wait it has been a week since I last posted :)   Last week was super busy for me. I feel like I'm just now settling down a little. Time to enjoy blogging again.     WOW!!! I just saw all the Christmas comments! I am so happy that you all left comments, and I see there are new followers too!!!  Thank you so much for all your kind words, and for sharing amazing Christmas stories. November 1st, I will draw a winner for the quilt. I only need 10 more followers and I will be giving another Christmas quilt away to celebrate 100 followers. You will not have to leave a comment again. I will draw from the same comment list. Adding any new followers to the first list.     So, what had me so busy this week.... I took a 3 day quilt class, I worked on Christmas presents, I worked on the quiltie trade, took care of my family, and tried to catch up with other projects.

Here is my Cotton Club BOM blocks!!

And here is a sneak peek at my quilt class I took from Susan Carlson. This was by far one of the coolest classes I have ever taken.  I will show you more in another post.

Well, that's it for today... I have a bunch of work to do.  The Quiltie trade will be going out in two days.
I hope every one is well. Have a wonderful day!!

Quilt Giveaway!!!

Yes!!!... I am going to give this quilt away!!!.... I have thoroughly enjoyed my introduction into blog land.  To celebrate that I almost have 75 followers. (wow, by the way!!)  I thought I would share some love and give away one of my quilts. This is a 23"x23" quilt. That I pieced and quilted myself. Here is a close up of this little treasure.

There is a little sparkle in the quilt. I used sticklers on the snow to make it shimmer. I don't think the camera picked it up. But it is there. :o)
Now, I know it is a little early for Christmas stuff, but I wanted to give this little quilt away to say thank you for following me. And the only two quilts I have to give away happen to be Christmas quilts. :o)

Step #1  Leave me a comment about your favorite Christmas present EVER!!!  Step # 2 Become a follower.  If you are already a follower let me know in your comment. That's it!! I will pull a name from all the comments on November 1st..... I would be very grateful to everyone if you would spread the word about my give away.. ... And, there is another chance to win one more I have another little Christmas quilt I will give away to celebrate 100 followers.

I am very THANKFUL to everyone who follows me and leaves comments on this blog of mine. I truly love hanging out with everyone, and getting to know so many of you. And the inspiration that I glean from all of you is just AWESOME!! There are some very talented Blogger's in blog land :o)

This give away is now closed! And this quilt has flown away to its new home.

PS... We will be doing another trade. So stay tuned. When I post all the photo's of the quilties I will give out the new trade info.

I LOVE To Make Quilties!!

Okay, I am going to show you some more quilties I have made. Remember I'm making one a week. My goal was to have 52 by the end of the year. This project is in addition to the Quiltie Trade I'm hosting. Here is my butterfly quiltie, I used a small piece of card board on it too.

Here is a ripped fabric and batting mix. Then I added paper flowers.

The charm broke off of a key chain. And I never throw anything away :)

Random pieces of fabric with painted paper towels, dryer lint, beads, and funky yarn.

Last quiltie for today,   A woven fabric, with beading!

Well, Ladies the mail out date for the QUILTIE TRADE is this Saturday the 15th. Don't forget to mail your quilties and your return postage. The quilties that have come in are wonderful. I can't wait for every one who is trading to get their news back and hear all the oo's and aa's. And trust me that is what you will be doing.

You are NOT going to believe what I did !?!!

Does this picture give you a clue???? Oh yeah!! I did it!! I sewed through my finger.  OOWWW!!!! ( and that is putting it nicely :):)  I was working away on my quilties and BAMMM!!

I yelled, my husband and daughter came running in my room, my head is spinning, and I decide to take a little nap on the sewing room floor. When my husband looked at it, he said, "You want the good news or the bad news first??" Good news, the needle went into the side of my figure (no bone). Bad news, the needle broke and is in my finger. AARRGGGG!!  So, after I gained the blood back in my head. Out came the broken needle. (and that is ALL I have to say about that :o)  So, learn from me LADIES---- DON'T SEW THROUGH YOUR FINGER! Hope your day is way better than mine.

Show and Tell Friday!!

Every once in a while I would like to show you some of my quilts that I have finished. So, here are several quilts I have done in the last 2 years. This first quilt was a scrap buster class. We were only allowed to use scraps in our stash. I hit my batik stash for this quilt.

This is a sample I made for a local quilt shop.

Here is my Turning Twenty quilt. I just love this pattern. It is SO easy.

My embroidery quilt!! This is one of my favorite quilts of all time!!

Here is my daughter and her first quilt finished. I think she did a SUPER job!!!

I have to share these flowers with you. I had a really crappy day yesterday. My darling Husband could hear it in my voice on the phone. When I came back from running errands, I had these roses, my favorite sandwich and snack, and a wonderful card waiting on me in my kitchen. ...SIGH.... I have a wonderful MAN :):) I love you Honey!!!

Well, the Quilties are starting to roll in!!!! Yeah!! They are wonderful.!! I have sent out the reminders to every one. This is going to be a great trade Ladies. Oct 15th is mail out day.

Hugs to all who stop by!! And I really love to hear from you so leave a comment!!

Cotton Club BOM

I haven't done a Block of the Month with a local quilt shop in a long time. Just recently I went into one of our local shops and fell in love with this BOM. It's called Cotton Club, by Bonnie Blue Quilts. I know some of you are thinking... Ahh..... That's a little traditional for you Sandra!! Yes, I know, but every once in awhile the traditional calls my name. :) My darling Husband is a very calm quiet kind of guy. So, I have made our bedroom in traditional colors to fit his personality. Which works out great since we have quite a few family antiques. This new BOM is made up of 45 (five inch squares) and will hang in our room..... But all is not traditional and plain......... There is a really cool treat that comes with this Bom club...The designers have decided to give out every month an extra project. They will be small quilts. So, I have decided in addition to making the blocks I will make all twelve extra projects.... But I will do it .... my way!!
TA DA!!!! Here is the extra project. And it's in MY colors !!!!!!! This month is done. I just went and picked up next month, so I'm off to quilt.
