My House is all Dressed Up for Christmas!!!

Today is the opening for the 2011 Christmas Quilt show over at Sew Cal Gal's. Here is my Christmas entry for this show. Be sure to pop over to see the rest of the Christmas entries. The show is running from Nov 28th - Dec 2nd.

I don't have many project pictures I can show you. They are all Christmas presents. And my family and friends read my blog.... so I decided to show you my decorations. Here is tree number 1.

I made this quilt years ago. I put it up every Christmas.

This is tree number 2 in my entry way.

This quilt was made in a series of three. I gave the other two away to blog friends.

Tree number 3. This is the child tree. All the ornaments on it are made by my kids.

I have a collection of snowmen that I put out every year. Here is one of my favorite snowmen. My Mom bought him for me. I really love the Christmas season.
Well, I'm off to quilt some more. I'm almost done..... almost!!!
Hope all is well with you!

For those doing the Christmas Quiltie trade... How is it going?? Hope you are almost done.
I have already received several sets in the mail....They are wonderful!!! This is going to be a great trade!!

Why I Am Very Thankful!!

Our oldest son, Rodney.

I am feeling truly blessed this holiday season. God has blessed me with such a wonderful family.

Our second son, Nicholas.

Our third child, Kerri.

Each one of these mixed media pieces were made during a class I took at a scrapbook store.

All three of my wonderful children have come about with help of a very amazing man. My darling Husband. Whom I love with all my heart. He is my soul mate. The one that was made just for me.

As I was saying... I am feeling truly blessed this Thanksgiving.  I praise God daily for all the blessings He has placed in our lives.
I am also thankful for the warriors who risk their lives daily to protect our borders and keep our country safe.

Please have a very Blessed Thanksgiving.

Look What Came In The Mail!!

I received a wonderful package all the way from Nova Scotia. One of the wonderful things about blog land....are the people. I have made some wonderful friends. One such friend is Lesley from The Cuddle Quilter. She and I have made a great connection. We talk often, and laugh at each other's jokes. She is a wonderful encourager as well. She sent me this package for being her first follower.  She sent a book for me to read my daughter. (which we loved) Wool tool bag, pens, charms, a fat quarter, a wallet, a first aide kit ( for when I run over my fingers :):) And she had mailed out her Quilties for the last trade, but they went back to her... so she sent them to me any way.. WOW!! So, I'm showing you this to say-- this is an awesome Chick. Make sure you check out her blog. You will find a wonderful lady over there. Thanks Lesley--- I really appreciate your heart and talents and warmth. Super big Hugs-- And Happy Thanksgiving!!

Well, I'm off to work on Christmas presents. Hope you all have a wonderful week, and a very Happy Thanksgiving!!   On Wednesday I will post what I am most thankful for.     See ya !!

Quilt Retreat Show and Tell

(Laura's Irish chain)

Hello, Everyone!! My quilt retreat was a wonderful time of fun, laughs, and quilting experience! The weather was crisp and cool. I was hoping for snow, but it didn't come.  I thought I would show off some of the great projects the Ladies were working on.

Becky's -- Bonnie Hunter quilt.

Tina's quilt top

Kim's -- Family Album quilt

Pam's big scrappy quilt

Martha's rusty blue quilt

Gundrun's leaf quilt.

Kathy shows off her Orange Peel, and Lynnette shows her purse.

Then we have are "Camp Queen" Leeanna, with her adorable Christmas mini.

And finally, we have "Tim".  Melanie has dedicated her life to raising pups for the Power Paws Assistant Dog Program. She takes her dogs with her every where. Even quilt camp. I had a super hard time keeping my hands off this adorable guy. There is no touching a working dog!! One day she will have to say goodbye to this fella when he is placed with his new owner. Thank you Melanie for your love and dedication. (and her family too!!)

I'm telling ya --- sweet, sweet, sweet!!

So, there you go, My quilt camp review. Hope you enjoyed the pictures.
Have a wonderful day!!

A Small Show and Tell

I made this tumble block quilt a few years ago. I went to the Houston Quilt show in 2009, and came home with some yummy fabric. This quilt was made from all that fabric.

I made this quilt based on the border. I fell in love with that fabric.
I laughed when I saw this picture....."Hey, my quilt has legs!!"
I bet you didn't know that some quilts come with legs?! :O)

Christmas Craft Season Already?!?

Okay, where has the year gone?? One minute I'm putting together an Easter basket for my daughter. Then out of nowhere I'm planning Christmas crafts!!!! Making Christmas presents, and Christmas tree shopping.  I have to decorate early this year, one of our sons is coming home early for Christmas. His work schedule will not let him loose on Christmas. Our other son is a Marine, and is currently stationed in Afghanistan. (pray for him)  He will not be home for Christmas :(:(     So, out everything comes, and up go the decorations. I know, I know, it's not even Thanksgiving yet !!  But, we are giving THANKS that our one son is safe and that the other gets to come home at all.. :)....... This is what is going on in my household. Hope all is well with everyone!!
