Happy Sunday Afternoon Making Art:):)

My wee one was having a bad day.... on Sunday!! Her coach was not very nice to her...and she was feeling a little blue...So, I asked her to come and paint with me for the afternoon...hoping to get her out of the blues:):)

She wanted the word the "Believe" on her project...I suggested she add "in myself"... Sometimes people don't believe in you...and you must always BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!!!! She agreed and was a very happy little girl with her new art:):)

Close up of Daughter's painting:):) Didn't she do a great job?!!!
My canvas start:):)

...and then the finish of our day... Had a wonderful time painting with my kiddo...and I know I don't have to tell ya'll this...but ART HEALS!!!! My kiddo came in sad..and left a happy camper :):)

So, the jest of the story is....feeling blue...make some ART:):)
Much Love- Sandie

i've been feeling pretty blue lately, so I better go make some art!!!

Loved this post. Your daughter's (and yours) piece is wonderful! Art IS good for the soul (...and it washes away the dust of everyday life...) :-)

Gorgeous art, both of you! :) I love how you made your backgrounds and then added another layer over it as the negative space. That's an awesome approach, I never thought of doing it that way before. Almost like stenciling only backwards!

Hi Sandra Kaye
First off I had to say hello to a fellow colourful Sandra(-)Kay(e) and then I saw your paintings. Wow, love your daughter's one, great colour and texture, and wanted to give her a big thumbs up from down under (South Australia). Then I had such fun reading several of your blogs and just had to sign up and follow.

I'm not artistic in the least but this looks like something I would love to do with my kids. Your pictures are great but I still need help. Can you give the specific instructions after painting the background on the canvas?
