Wrangling my Scraps

I had a blog friend ask how I handle all the scraps that making quilts seem to leave us with...so, I took some pictures of how I handle my scraps:):)   As my fabric yardage gets to a certain size I don't put them back...I cut them up into the following configurations.... Above, I have 3 drawers filled with cut squares. Just waiting to be used when ever I need them:):)
...then I have buckets filled with strips....2 1/2 inch strips.....
                                                       ..... 1 1/2 inch strips.....
...and 1/2 inch stripes for making bowls and rugs:):)
Well...I hope this helps you in trying to wrangle your scraps:):)

                                                               Have a great day:):)
                                                               Much love- Sandie

That is a great idea! I have all kinds of odd sized scraps around and never thought of just cutting them to a uniform size as I go and one day there would accidently be enough pieces for a project. Thank you for sharing!

Great idea! I keep mine in strips too and it saves so much time when it's time to start a new project!

Hum. Your drawer of squares looks great. And it looks so functional. It must be time for me to get my squares out of the box. Thanks for sharing this.

great idea but that takes discipline and determination. Wish I had that. Now I cant see very well I wish I had done something like this, then I could just sew them together.
