Just A Little Sewing

Just a little bit of sewing going on here....in between art journal making:):) I got my baskets done for Lesley...finally!!!! They are on there way to her in Canada:):)

......and I'm still sewing my hexies together.....loving this method of putting them together:):)

                                                    Still working on this beauty
....and I just can't seem to sew something with out sewing another project in between what I'm sewing on. So, these tumblers were stacked next to my sewing machine...and every time I need to start or stop.....I put a pair of tumblers through my machine...at some point I will have an extra quilt top:):)
Thanks for stopping in to see what I'm up to....I'm gearing up for my Paris trip coming up in 3 weeks!!!!!! I have been planning this trip for a year now...and its almost here!!!! Next post I will show you my Paris Travel journals that I made:):)

Wow! Lots of eye candy. Are you zigzagging the hexies? Is there paper under them? Or did you use plastic no melt type? Wonderful quilts in progress.

Hi Sandie
The hexis look great, I shall have to try that method of attaching them together. Lesley blocks are pretty, very Canadian!

You have been plenty busy. I'm like you in having several projects underway at once.. some fabric, some paper! It looks like chaos, but eventually it all comes together and gets done. I like how the Tumbler quilt is just happening on your way to another quilt top. A good way to avoid all the end threads on a project and get a second quilt out of it. Smart. Countdown is on for your big trip.. how exciting!

I have the same questions as Bonnie
I love your scrappy quilts. I have never done a hexagon quilts, but IF I could sew them together by machine- I would LOVE it. Please share the details. Is it a zigzag stitch and what stitch length and width is best?

Have a wonderful time in Paris! Drink champagne at the top of the Eiffel Tower, and put a lock on the bridge. Also eat pastry. Lots and lots of pastry.

Ooh, like the idea of using tumblers as a leader/ender project. Now that I have a 60 degree triangle ruler, I might make some of those myself for an inbetween project. Are yours entirely random?
