Old Tired Wallet Made New :)

Hello, hope you all are having a wonderful week:) I have been playing in the studio...this week I took an old wallet and dressed it up. I started with a simple layer of gesso....

I carefully stayed within the stitch lines of the wallet.
I wrapped the wallet closure with masking tape to protect it from paint.

Then I added lots of cheap paints and doodled with sharpies....finally adding a layer of varnish to protect it all. Only time will tell how long it will last:):)

Even if it lasts only a year....I can always make another fun wallet!!! Meanwhile, I'm enjoying this one:):)

Great rescue! I did a worn out Fossil purse one time and got about another year (and a ton of comments!) out of it. Love what you did with this one.

Wowser! How cool is that? I am assuming it is leather. I have a few old ones sitting around here I may have to try it some day. Right after I make several cork wreaths and trivets. (Been saying that for five years,)
