New Bag

I won a very yummy charm pack of Tim Holtz fabric on Instagram. I decided to turn it into a quilted bag. The fabric has an ephemera feel to it. Love this fabric line. Really would love to get my hands on a lot more of it.
Then  decided it really needed to have some doilies added to it. So, I pulled out my collection and started to play.
All done...and I LOVE it. Nice and big. I can stuff a queen size quilt into it. Or just smaller projects and a sketch book. Absolutely perfect.

Have a great day :0)

Quilt Studio Peek

For the last several weeks I have found myself in my Quilt studio slamming away at two of my quilts on my list for my FAL ... my Mystery Quilt and Tumblers quilt.... patterns by Bonnie Hunter
I just need to get the borders put on....then make the back....and then quilt....and then!!! I'm not quite close to being done...but I'd say I'm past the half way point for sure :0)
And this is what 1,860 tumblers looks like. Bonnie...put out a Leaders and Enders Challenge for 2015. And this is mine. I have been running it through my machine between each project I have been working on. I started this just before my ankle surgery. I only have to finish the bottom border on and put it on....make the back...and so forth.

Hoping to get these two done before the end of March before the FAL deadline. I put four quilts on that list...but that was being a little to ambitious even for!!! So, I'm focusing on these two.

You can find both of these quilts patterns over on

GlueBook Party

My friend Becky told me about Glue Book Parties happening over on Instagram.
Every Month I would try to join in but I always forgot about it and missed out on the fun. So, Becky had the brillant idea to come over to my house and do the party with me...that way there would be no more excuses for me to!!! Besides...that would be a lot more fun anyway ... right!!! I thought so!! We had so much fun that night...that we have gotten together every month since...and sometimes we can wrangle others to join us :0)

This party is hosted and run by Christine Hiester her blog is HERE.

The jest of the party is... Christine tosses out 4 prompts every 30 minutes.
And for 30 minutes you find things to collage and create around the theme of the prompt as loosely as you would like to. There are NO hard rules...if you don't like a prompt just skip it...this is all about fun. The first time I did this it was a little hard for me...with the time constraint... but I have actually come to really enjoy the process because I get out of my head and just create to create....and I am very surprised by my pages. Plus...Having Becky here is always the cherry on the top :0)

Above we got our friend Darlene to drive in from Orlando to join us for the Glue book Party. We of course had our wine glasses, scissors, and supplies...and we were ready to go!! That was a very fun night...we giggled like 4th graders...hehehe

theme - orange
theme - Home
theme - plant
theme - feet
this page turned out awesome for me...because I just happened to be sitting with 2 very good friends and I had this magazine page of 3 sets of feet. And we were making art. LOVE!!!

Then as we were laughing the night away ... some how we got on the topic of picking up a hitch hiker...and how BAD that was... and I think it might have been Darlene who said "Not if she has a glue stick!" LOLOLOLOL!!!! We exploded!!! with laughter so loud!!!! When the glue book party was over we were not done playing and I suggested we all make a collage page with the theme... "She had a glue stick so we brought her home". I took a photo of my glue stick.... printed it out 3 times and give one to each of us and we each used it in our collage.
You can see all three here. Very different but silly and we know it...but it made us laugh so hard. When we each see this page it will bring back fond memories of friendship.

It was a very fun night!!!!

If you are on Instagram you should check it out it is the first Saturday of the month at 8pm look for @Barebranchblooming
She also does prizes as well.

New Quilt Studio Piece.

I added a new piece to my Quilt studio. A 1937 Hotel mailbox from downtown Jacksonville, Fl.... before they flatten the building. My friend Maria purchased it first...sold it to a Scrapbook store...purchased it back when the store was closing...then put it out there that she no longer wanted it in her house. SQUEEEEEEE!!!! So, I bought it from an awesome low price.

...and by now I'm sure you are all know about my obsession with Annie Sloan paint! In the above photo I needed to clean the years of dust and dirt off this bad boy...and get it ready for painting. So, off came the back. "Cheese"... I see you :0)
I spent many hours in the garage cleaning this thing...and my girls came to check on me often.  They of course never stayed out there with there was no soft place to lay down.  LOL!!
Paint every where!! I wore paint clothes for 7 days straight...and went no where :0)

I decided to pull out every other I would have more room. Here it is in place and distressed. Now to fill it.
Here is the BEFORE picture. I love the uniqueness of antiques. But they can be expensive or hard to find when you are setting up your studio. So...I bought this Ikea cubby thing....and it worked...but was just NOT pretty. Not what I really wanted. The cubes next to it holding my laces and perfect!! LOVE!!
So, down to my bedroom closet went the big cubes...
And in came my new piece. LOVELOVELOVE!!!!
I decided to not stand it up the other way. I wanted space on the wall over it to hang a mini quilt collection. The Letters are from old metal signs that I found. (that my sister spray painted for me...cause I totally suck at spray paint) The sticks poking out down the center...have all my fun ribbons and trims on them.
Yep...totally happy with this picture :0)

Its important to me that my studios feel good to me...and are very inviting to me. When you surround yourself with things you love....You will truly have a HAPPY PLACE.

and I do.

New Pillow

I can't believe it is 2016!! It is my prayer and hope that this new year will be a great year.

I just finished a new pillow for my guest bed...I have 4 super large pillows that need covering.

The center piece was an old English paper pieced project that I had long forgotten about. I pulled it out and machine stitched it to one of my favorite Kaffe Fasset fabric pieces.

I was able to quilt it as I made it. You can't see the quilting very much from the front....So I flipped it over so you can see it on the back.
All done.

Here it is in its place. Now I just need to make two more.

Zoey and Daisy approved!!

Hope that you all have a blessed year!!!

On to the next project :0)
