Where Bloggers Create 2016

Welcome to my HAPPY PLACE!!!  I am linking up with Karen Valentines "Where Bloggers Create 2016 today and showing off my studios. I am super happy to have you here today. So, please come in and have a look around. I wish you all could really be here in person...because THAT would be super fun!!! First studio......

MIXED-MEDIA ROOM
This is where all the inky, painty, splattering, swirling, gooey, sticky, messy fun happens!!! :0)

I have been given or traded  artwork with others from all over the world... They surround my studio and give me inspiration everyday :0)

This room is the room were I have the freedom to just let loose and play and enjoy myself and try new things with all the different mediums that I have. I really enjoy that about this room.
I make art journals for sale...and the covers always are original artwork by me. It can get messy when I'm making more than 2 or 3 journals at a time.

My desk. It is very important to me that I have all my supplies handy and close to me.

My shadows.... Bella (big girl) Daisy (black girl) Zoey (cream girl)
I can't imagine my life without them in it.
and that wraps up the messy fun mixed media studio!!!

.....second studio

QUILT STUDIO

The "I-need-to-be-spot-on-my-quarter-inch-mark-or-the-whole-quilt-will-be-off-studio-room"
LOL!!!
Now, I'm going to take a second to say, that in the past studio tours...I ALWAYS get comments about HOW NEAT MY STUDIOS ARE!!!! Who has a studio tour and doesn't clean up??? Right? Well, I cleaned up my Mixed-Media room for the tour...but this year I decided NOT to clean up my quilt room. So, here we go...into a REAL QUILT ROOM.

Now here in my Quilt room I'm not so adventurous ...that is to say...I am but I am not... meaning...I'm very fussy about my quarter inch sewing line, my cutting line, paper-piecing line...the straight of grain and on and on. So...I put on a totally different hat when I walk into this room. I am NOT the same kind of artist when I come into this room.   But, I do feel like lately some of the other room has been inching its way into this room bit by bit...and I have to say...its kinda getting a little fun!!! So, I will have to wait and see what the future artist Sandra Kaye will look like....Ha :0)
I happen to be in the middle of 3 very big quilt projects and didn't have time to clean up...or want to clean up... so this worked out for you to see my room in its working stage. And before anyone says..."How come your floors are clean?" that is for the safety of my big girl Bella...she is the house GOAT...she love little bits of paper, fabric, ribbon, you name it...she will eat it...then we are off to the dog ER and I don't want that for her...so we have learn to keep our floors clean...and all trash cans have lids or they stay on counters.

My mid-arm sit down machine is in the background there waiting its turn to start up. Her name is Bertha :0)

This is Momma-Nina

Baby-Nina is covered up here

Goldfish in the works

Love my mini wall...but the projects are creeping up the wall...yikes!!!!

Well, there you go. Thanks so much for stopping by...hope you enjoyed your visit!!!
Thanks again Karen for hosting a great Tour :0)

Wow I could sure have a great time if I could come play in your quilt studio!! Love how colorful your rooms are too. My rooms are so much smaller, but they are colorful too, so I am not complaining. Thanks for showing where you create.

So envious of your work spaces! My sewing room is quite small. I tend to spread out all over the house! Your rooms look like such fun! They're set up so cheefully too!

This was so much fun and I'm glad you didn't clean up...I have to occasionally but we don't want to spend all our time doing that and not creating...tell me about the little iron.

Very Fun Areas Sandie! All that creating and carpet too? My husband is always picking up pins and telling me about it! So Now I'm finding paper clips (not as many though) and telling him.

It was good to see a 'working' sewing room so thanks for sharing that work space. It was also good to see the cupboard you showed last year, with all the little cubby holes, now filling up with fabric - I guess you didn't find anything to put in the smaller lower spaces yet :p

Looks like a Quilter's Heaven to me!!! And .... Ohhhhh that chair & ottoman ~ I am a hand quilter & I use a hoop, that chair & ottoman are exactly what I want so that I can get comfy & quilt to my heart's content. Thank you so much for sharing!! Happy Quilting!!!

Love the colors of the walls in both studios. Great selections. Bella looks so much like a model as she sits with her turned in her regal pose. That lounging chair with the ottoman would be wonderful to crawl into with the poodles to cuddle, relax, and watch another episode of Quilting with Alex. Great studio tour, Sandie. Thank you for showing us how your work and live in these colorful spaces.
Hugs,
Marrianna

Be still my heart, I love love your creative space. The perfect place to work, get creative, and lounge. Love those windows. You are so organized. I love quilting too. But have not been doing it very long, and with practive hope to be really good at it someday!

Your Creative Sanctuaries are so Orderly and Cheerful that it would indeed be a place I'd feel extremely Creative in... and probably be able to actually FIND what I needed... so unlike mine at the moment. *Ha ha ha* I love that you named your Machines and that your Fur Baby entourage enjoys your spaces as much as you do. In my Old Art Studio Cottage, before the recent Epic Big Move to our New Home, I had Adopted some Stray and Feral Kitties and they liked to come inside if the door was open and be my Audience. Something about the Space seemed to Calm the Feral ones particularly and make them feel more inclined to tolerate people and be almost pet quality critters. So I invited them in often, seeing how much they loved exposure to my Happy Place too. Thank you for Sharing your Personal Retreats... Blessings from the Arizona Desert... Dawn... The Bohemian

Hello Sweet Sandra, your spaces are amazing! I love seeing into the rooms where magic happens and imaginations can run free. You have certainly created a place to give you creativeness room to grow. I love that over stuffed large chair and ottoman . . . I could live in that thing :)
Thanks for sharing :)

loved seeing your rooms~so colorful and fun. I said 2 yrs ago i would get mine in order-hasn't happened yet, but i'm working on it.

Great to have both rooms! Keeping track of supplies, and putting away fabric in order to get out paint and stencils is a thing of the past for you- very functional. And both are so appealing and colorful. How do you decide which "hat" to don on a given day? Fun stuff.

Sandie,
WoW!
Amazing creative spaces, dear one!
Your quilts are gorgeous!
Years ago, the very first Studio One was decorated all in pinks and greens, roses and lace and stocked out in sight. Like you, (then) I $old my cards and paper designs.
Now, that I am fully retired, my creative space has taken on that of my "true" lifestyle for where I am in life!
Love that your "fur" babies are part of your "space"!
Pets enrich our lives in wonderful ways!
Fondly,
Pat

How very delightful to see a real work in progress! Both the room And the quilting projects. You other working space is great too - how fun to be able to have the space to divide the two completely different types of creating! Happy Day! Cindy

Wow! I so LOVE your spaces. The mixed media room is so colorful and I love the art on the wall. My favorite thing in the sewing room is the amazing mail sorter organizer (at least that's what I think it is). Your doggies are so cute. Lovely studio spaces!

Beautiful rooms! Love them both. They are both colorful and fun. If I had to choose one thing that stands out to me the most, it would be your table in your mixed media room. It is simply gorgeous. I cannot even imagine having a place like that to create. I think it would be both inspiring and terrifying. I know I would be afraid of spilling paint on it! There is so much to look at and admire in these rooms.
