Vacation Quilt

Confession Time....I can be a bit of a pack-rat! HeHe! When we go places I would love to collect things from where we have been. But to make sure THAT doesn't happen my Darling Hubs came up with the idea of hat pins.  Because he didn't want spoons, mugs, towels, t-shirts, bears, shaker globes...oh boy, this list could go on forever...and collect dust in the house. So, I was restricted to Hat pins...and I was okay with that. I set out and made my first quilt to hold my "Vacation" pins. Of course I made it to small and filled it quickly. I have since made this new quilt and it will take a long time to fill it.  OH how I love the HUNT. Where ever we go...the first thing I HAVE TO DO... is FIND MY PIN!!! Then I can enjoy my vacation. LOL!!!
This quilt hangs in the hall way near the quest potty (Happy-potty) :0)
The rest of the pictures are close ups of places I have been with friends or with Family.
Two of my favorites...

The yellow feet was when I went to Parris Island and saw my Son graduate from one of the hardest Boot Camps ever.... Marine Corps.

The one above it was when He was deployed to Afghanistan and finally came home...I drove to California (from AZ) by myself in LA traffic!!!! (YIKES!!) To see my Baby Boy. To make sure he had all his fingers and toes. (He did) We were walking around the base the next day...and he said to me .."Mom, do you want to go into a gift shop here on base? You might find a hat pin?" My Family knows me well. :0)

Now you are probably getting an inkling why my Hubs has restricted me to pins... LOL!!! I never buy just one pin. Unless that is all they have. Ha!
Went to Paris with my Sister...Oh, What a trip!!! and what a hunt!!! These pins were VERY hard to find!!!! But I WAS NOT COMING HOME without at least one!!! :0)

I LOVE finding my pins!!! As you can imagine it is ever so disappointing when someone tells me they DON'T have hat pins!!! Then I will go get a postcard or sticker and put it in my journal. So, I don't break the "collecting dust rule" LOL!!!

Thanks for stopping by :)

Updated My Mini Wall

I updated my Mini wall...and it is looking great!!! I really love coming up my staircase and seeing all these lovely mini quilts hanging there.  12 of them I made, 12 made by other Lovely peeps, and 1 that is a collaborative mini. (25 in total)  I have my Happy Sloth to hang but that will require a ladder and someone to hold it while I balance 20 feet in the air!! (gulp...which is why it hasn't gotten hung yet...LOL)

Happy Wall :0)

Have a great Day!!!

Been Busy Quilting

Hello  my Blog Friends...long time no see!!! I know I know...Where have I BEEN?!!!! No Where?!!! LOL!!!!! I mean...let me think...I went to Quiltcon in Savanna, Georgia, then drove to Daytona for the AQS Quilt show, then went to Disney World for 5 days for an Art Retreat where we did 4 parks in 4 days and artjournaled in each park. So much fun!!!! Then I put together a one day road-trip with my EPHexie Gals for the Row by Row Shop Hop and we drove all the way to Rockledge, Florida for the beginning of trip...and worked our way back.... Oh, and then 2 weeks ago I was in the Caymans for a week with my Bestie Emily... just enjoy the Island life...slow...and no worries. :0)

........and then the last 5 days I've been stressed to the max wondering if Hurricane Irma was going to come my way or NOT!!!!!! GEEEEZE LOUISSSSEEEEE!!!!! Making preparations, getting gas, water, pet stuff, maps, nailing down my house, taking everything of value UP stairs!!!.
And then she turns LEFT.... thankful!.....but its bittersweet...was still on my knees for those on the LEFT.

Any way...obviously I have been just a wee bit busy!! But I have been quilting..and here are the last of my swaps that I was involved in. I have 2 left. Then no more mini quilt swapping for me.... maybe? I should say never...cause you never know...LOL!!

Geese swap 2017 ... This one was very hard to let go. It took MANY hours.
Bit by Bit 2 Round Robin Quilt Swap I am in this year. 8 Ladies started with a center, and then passed to the right. Then you work on the quilt , and then pass to the right again. You keep passing to the right until your quilt ends up back in your lap. Yeah!!! I added the Dresden flowers on the very top and then the X blocks on the sides for someone to add later.

Animal swap 2017 I knew this was going to be hard to let I made 2 at the same time...mine has a different background. So, she was easy to let go.
Word-swap 2017 Went to a gal who owns a Quilt Shop...and now hangs in her shop.
New blue jean bag.

Love the texture in this bag!!!!

Like I said above...I have been busy...even though I have not been posting. But I will get back to posting on a regular time schedule now.

Working on some very fun stuff coming up.....TBA
